About

Defy Theory is a rock band from Johannesburg, South Africa. The band was formed in 2013 and consists of members Franna Nel, Daniel Bronkhorst, Gareth Cairncross, Renier Lillie and Justin Visagie.

The band's sound cannot be placed under one genre but rather experiments with a mix of alternative, melodic, rap rock and dance. Drawing influence from bands such as Muse, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Alter Bridge among others.

Defy Theory have recorded several singles at Anti-Motion Studios in Johannesburg with producer David Grevler. "Modicum", "Honey" , "Little Lie" & "Grim Reaper" can all be found on SoundCloud and ReverbNation.
